Description
English: A cast copper alloy, oval loop, medieval buckle, Meols type C, dating from 1350-1400AD. It has slightly convex sides with small ridges on the outside of the loop at the forward corners. The outer edge is thickened and has three central grooves on the upper surface, the middle groove being broader than the other two, and a single groove at each end. The strap bar is narrowed and offset and has a central groove to take the pin, which is now missing. The underside is plain. The buckle has a dark brown patina.
