[edit]DescriptionA llama and its offspring - geograph.org.uk - 1801614.jpg |
English: A llama and its offspring. Llamas in pasture beside the driveway to Priory Farm > 1801601. Whatever it was that the youngster did, its mother is not amused.
Llamas are members of the camelid family and originate from South America, where they are used as a pack animals, and for fibre and meat production. An adult llama is between 1.60 to 1.80 metres tall at the top of the head. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Llama. Apart from their different sizes, llamas can be distinguished from alpacas by the shape and size of their ears: alpacas > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/740556 have shorter and straight ears whereas the ears of llamas are banana-shaped. |
