Title |
A lead trial piece of Septimus Serverus |
||
Description |
English: Unusual lead disc with the obverse of a coin on one surface. The surface depicts the bust of the emperor Septimus Severus looking right wearing a laureate crown. Surrounding this is the inscription SEVERVS AVG PART MAX. The reverse is complete filed flat and smooth. The perimeter of the object is irregular in places and even has what appears to be a striking crack above the head of the emperor. |
