A late medieval copper alloy thimble dating to the 15th century.
Description
English: A late medieval copper alloy thimble dating to the 15th century. The thimble has a wide margin between the base and the pits. The circular pits are hand-drilled in an anti-clockwise spiral, with some perforated completely. The pits are evenly spaced and do not cover the peak. There is no maker's mark visible. There are some cracks in the base but no visible patination across the surface.

Dimensions: length: 19.54 mm; thickness: 0.70 mm; diameter at the base: 16.84 mm; diameter at the peak: 12.79 mm; weight: 2.89g.
