Summary

[edit]
Description A final look at the 4-6-2 steam locomotive # 546 25 plinthed outside Butterworth station in Penang. Butterworth is the railhead for Georgetown on Penang Island. While the smoke box mounted headlight of the locomotive gives the engine a slightly American appearance, the shape of the chimney and smokebox are a dead giveaway of her British lineage. She was built by North British Loco. Co. in the mid 1940s. All trains to Butterworth are nowadays diesel hauled. (Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia, Nov. 2013)
