THORNGATE HUNDRED dividends, amounting to £8 y. zd., to be applied inthe distribution of great coats, blankets and coals The several sums of stock are held by the officialtrustees. The income of the several charities is applied by the rector and churchwardens in accordancewith their respective trusts. The Baptist Chapel and Trust Property, see aboveunder Broughton. EAST WELLOW Weleue (xi cent.) ; Welewe, Welwe (xiii cent.) ;Estwelewe (xiv cent.) ; Wellowe, Est Weloughe (xvcent.) ; Wyllow (xvi cent.). The parish of EastWellow is near the Wiltshire border and covers anarea of 2,468 acres, of which 687J acres are arable,604\ acres permanent grass and 1,08 5 \ acres wood-land.1 The River Blackwater flows from west toeast through the parish, which is hilly and very wellwooded. There is, properly speaking, no village,only scattered farmsteads. The old church ofSt. Margaret and the neighbouring vicarage are onhigh ground near the river in the west of the parish ;the churchyard was enlarged
