C3 hi ►sihi General Work ble tomb inlaid with mosaics of different colored mar-bles. You have probably read a description of thislovely tomb built by Shah Jahan for his beloved wifeslast resting-place. It is said that the building coversan acre of ground and that twenty-two thousand menwere twenty years in building it. The cost wastwenty millions of dollars. I cannot vouch for thetruth of this but it is the current statement here, anddoes not seem impossible as one notes the fine anddelicate carvings of the marble screens, the exquisitebas-reliefs and other sculptured designs which musthave required years of careful workmanship to ac-complish. We tested the echo by singing one lineof the Doxology at a time waiting for the whisperingreturn of what seemed like sweet voices from unseenones hovering over us in the great dome. This beautiful structure stands in a garden of thir-teen acres on the banks of the River Jamna. Thegarden itself is a beautiful sight with its fine trees, lux-uria
