The Agility of Body, and Refolution of Mind that are Agility ofneceffary to a Surgeon, are elegantly defcribed by Celfus: a A Surgeon, (fays Resolution he) ought to be in his full Vigour, to have a ftrong fteddy Hand, never given of Mind. to tremble, and to be as ready with his left Hand as his right; to have a quick, clear Sight, an intrepid Mind, void of all Tendernefs, fa as not to beat all moved by the Outcries of his Patient; to ufe no more Hafte than the Cafe re- quires, nor to cut lefs than is neceffary •, but he mould act in all refpefts as if he was entirely unaffected by his Patients Complaints.
