Title
A fragment of a Medieval to Post Medieval, ceramic costrel, green glazed, border ware fabric, AD.1400-1550.
Description
English: A fragment of a Medieval to Post Medieval, ceramic costrel, green glazed, border ware fabric, AD.1400-1550. The fragment consists of the vessel spout and two pierced carry lugs. The spout is circular and has been applied to the formed vessel body before firing. The outside has green glaze but this has been abraded. One of the carry lugs is damaged, these were pierced to allow a cord to be passed through to allow the vessel to be carried. The fabric of the vessel is creamy white and free of inclusions. See Pearce (1992, fig.37) for parallels and Pg.30-32 for a discussion of different types of costrel.

Dimensions: height: 38.62mm; width: 46.51mm; weight: 51.98g.
