| Description |
English: A dun wilderness Spring colours on the seemingly endless grasslands of Jura. Purple Moorgrass is the main culprit, and is sadly rather unpalatable to herbivores. The grass builds up as tussocks and soft ground. Walking in Jura is not easy and paths few and far between - the 1:25000 maps tell lies, the tracks do not exist, they are just quadbike trails picked up in the aerial photographs. Quadbikes do squash the grass, so aid progress - but it is still a hard place. |
