Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A couple of heavies Two lorries from different era's at the Rushden Cavalcade of Transport May show.

The eight-wheeler AEC Mammoth Major was the backbone of many large haulage fleets form the late 30's to the mid 1950's capable of carrying about 15 tons.

The blue lorry is of a different scale - it was the last Scammell to be built as the factory closed in 1987. It is an S26 model built for the heavy haulage industry. The weight of the load on the AEC and a bit more would be the ballast weight for the Scammell before it pulled or pushed an abnormal load of anything up to 350 tons.
