Description
English: A complete post medieval copper alloy square bifacial coin weight for the Real d'or, dating from the early post-medieval period, between c. AD1500-1650. The obverse is stamped with the upper body of a crowned king within in a beaded circular border holding a sword in his left hand and an orb surmounted by a cross pomee in his right. The reverse appears to have the letters C and J with a hand in the centre, surounded by a wreath. The letters may possibly stand for Cornelis Janssen.
