Description |
English: A complete copper-alloy single-loop buckle 14th - 16th century AD. Buckles of this type are typically dated c. AD 1350-1450.The frame is sub-oval in plan, extending to a pointed pin rest at the centre of the outer side. The surfaces of the frame slope downwards and outwards. The buckle has the two plates intact and is folded around the space bar. The wire pin has also been looped around the short axis bar, which joins together the two sides of the spacer. There is one flat headed rivet at the attachment end which is still intact. The object measures 25mm in length, 15mm in width and the weight is 1g. |
