Title
A complete Medieval cast lead alloy mount dating from the 14th to early 16th century.
Description
English: A complete Medieval cast lead alloy mount dating from the 14th to early 16th century. The mount is of foliate cinquefoil form, with a five-petalled flower at each angle. The mount would have attached to a leather strap or belt by two integral circular rivets with roves.

Exact parallels can be found on the database, PUBLIC-7DCA6B and LON-5BD48C. There is a strong possibility that these mounts were affixed to the same object as they were found in the same area.

Other parallels can be found in Willemsen and Ernst (2012, Fig. 131 and 137). These examples are dated as before AD1530.

Dimensions: length: 22.08mm; width: 21.96mm; thickness: 2.05mm; weight: 2.79g.
