THE LARGEST AIRPLANE, 1919. The plane in the accompanying photograph, put into service early in 1919,at the time of its completion was the largest heavier-than-air machine in theworld. It was used in the transport service of the United States for the de-tection of enemy submarines. Woodrow Wilson 8705 of the settled peace of the world, are now united with her older as-sociates in urging her to assume a leadership which cannot be mistakenin the new order of Europe. America is Italys friend. Her people are drawn, millions strong,from Italys own fair countrysides. She is linked in blood, as well as 111affection, with the Italian people.
