Description |
English: A cast lead alloy heads of a novelty late Victorian/Edwardian toy. The object is sub-oval in plan and mostly oval in section. There is a rectangular slot running through the object which from the top of the head. On either side of the object are two clearly depicted a human faces. One has a lined forehead, lidded eyes, a bulbous nose and a closed mouth with the lower lip projecting outwards. The jaw extends downwards joining the neck. The other face has a smooth forehead, eyebrows, one of which is slightly raised, lidded eyes, a wider bulbous noseand a closed mouth with the lower lip projecting outwards. Ears project from either side of the object and are used as the ears for both faces. It has a mid-white patina. |
