Description
English: A carpet of bluebells on Gruinard Island. The bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) flower freely and undisturbed on the island, which has been devoid of people and farm animals since WWII when it was used in researching the use of anthrax as a weapon. It now has a rich birdlife, including ravens, buzzards and a pair of white-tailed sea eagles.
