Title |
A base sherd of a probable Roman vessel. |
||
Description |
English: A vessel base and body sherd. The wall of the vessel is 19.83mm thick. The base is flat and is c.700mm diameter. The fabric is an oxidised ware which is slightly soft. The core is a mid orange, with a single dark brown margin, light orange/brown exterior and a mid orange/brown coloured interior. The fabric has infrequent large white and pink irregular quartz inclusions. The sherd is slightly abraded. The sherd weighs 61g.
The fabric may suggest a Roman date. |
