It will now be found that the paper support may be raisedto any desired height, and held in that position by merelydrawing the movable uprights towards the fixed and tighten-ing the winged nut on same. Now cut a block of hardwood 2^ inches by 2 inches by 1Y2inches, and in this cut a groove i^ inches wide and i inchdeep. Bore a ^-inch hole from the bottom of the groove andforce a 5/16-inch thumbscrew through the hole so that thewood will take the thread. This serves as a stop when placedon the paper support. It will be noted that this easel permits of considerable lati-tude of adjustment both vertically and sidewise, and once ad-justed to a given position, any number of enlargements maybe made of any portion of a negative in exact registry. The paper support will carry a printing frame as large asIOXI2 without additional fastening, but when making verylarge enlargements, a drawing board is used to hold the paper—it is advisable to steady same at the top by means of small ironclamps, which may be purchased for a few cents. In conclusion, it may be said that the apparatus is easilymade at a very low cost, and the writer trusts it will be of asmuch service to others as it has been to him.
