| Description |
English: A Sledge and a Loader's Wagon The 'sledge' was used to move good slate from the rock face to the mill. This particular sledge belonged to Ponc Abyssinia. Little steam engines would draw runs of these sledges from the pit, the registered number of the bargain team to which the load belonged being clearly written on it. The 'Wagan Llwythwr' was used to transport finished slate down the inclines, usually in runs of three, to Gilfach Ddu where they (the wagons) were loaded, four to truck, on to the Padarn Railway for transporting to Felinheli (Port Dinorwig). |
