Description

A new sighting for me - something I was longing to sight for a while now. This bird is around 12-15 cm tall and is known by its distinctive Rust colored tail. A migratory bird from Central Asia (Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), it migrates to South India during winters. Its a wonder how the bird is able to make such an arduous journey. It is often sighted in wet forest areas, but mostly sticks to the upper canopy catching insects off the tree bark or those that fly high.

Canopy birds are often hard to shoot - they lack good angles, have difficulty of shooting against the bright skylight and the biggest challenge being, if I take my eye off the bird, then its very hard to sight them again.
