Description

The very hot Indian Summers are nesting/ breeding time for a large number of birds across India which nest around the banks of dried up lakes. Maybe it is because the temperatures reduce the incubation period - maybe the food is easier to find in the banks where the ground insects have to come out and get closer to the wet areas - maybe the nesting material is so hard. Maybe it is all of them. Here the Lark is busy pulling out small bits of the dry grass. I watched it for like 3-4 minutes in the hot sun and it started small and in a minute or two the beak was full. Then it flew away.
