A Roman copper alloy silvered knee brooch (AD 100-250).
Description
English: A Roman copper alloy silvered knee brooch (AD 100-250). Crescentic undecorated field inlaid on the head. This brooch has a semi-cylindrical hooded spring case. The bow is of rectangular section, strongly arched near the head, narrow at the waist and flaring at the foot. The bow has been decoratively cast with longitudinal facets extending down the sides. The catchplate is complete. It is in very good condition.
