A Roman copper alloy pin, dating to the 2nd and 3rd centuries A.D.
Description
English: A copper alloy group 4 hair pin from the roman period. It has a head which dips in the middle at which there is a single potruding knob. Cool (1990; 154 - 157) states that these types of pins are rare and are only sporadically produced during the roman period, ranging from the early second through to the late third and fourth centuries A.D. The diameter of the head measures 10.36mm. The measurement of the shank diameter is 1.69mm.
