A Roman copper alloy Nail Cleaner strap end.
Description
English: A Roman copper alloy Nail Cleaner strap end. The strap end is linear in plan tapering to a rounded point. The head is trapezoidal with a circular piercing in the centre. The strap end has two rounded pierced lugs on either side of the body. There is dot and ring decoration in the centre of the widest part of the blade, forming a spiral pattern. The strap end probably dates to the second to forth centuries. It is 65.6mm long, 12.3mm wide, 1.5mm thick and weighs 5.6 grams.
