Description
English: A Post Medieval lead alloy trough for caged birds (late 15th – late 17th century). This is a D-sectioned vessel, slightly flaring from the base for holding water, green plants or seed for cage birds. This example is undecorated with a straight edge and inverted bell-like profile at the top with a slightly raised transverse band just above and below the curve. Part of the rear wall, rim and front wall are damaged and missing.

A similar example was discovered in London and is illustrated in Egan (2005:129 no 617).

Dimensions: length: 52.24mm; width: 56.67mm; thickness: 28.51mm; weight: 74.41g.
