Description
English: A Post Medieval iron incomplete scale-tang knife probably dating to the 17th century. Only the central section of the knife is present; the end of the blade and the end of the scale-tang are broken and missing. The remaining blade has a triangular cross-section with a blunt back (width: 18.81mm). It tapers to the integral shoulder plate (width 13.18mm) and then expands gently to form the scale-tang (width: 23.15mm). The scale-tang has three rivet holes arranged along the mid-line; two of the rivets are still present in-situ. There is no maker’s mark visible.

Dimensions: length: 117.87mm; width: 23.15mm; thickness: 8.09mm; weight: 23.95g.
