A Post Medieval copper alloy book clasp.
Description
English: A Post Medieval cast copper alloy long and narrow book clasp. The top end of the clasp is bent over at a 45 degree angle and there are five drilled holes, two on the bent section and three on the straight body of the clasp. Two thirds of the way down the body there is an integral circular rivet protruding from the centre of the body. The base of the clasp widens with two rectangular knops on either side and a further rectangular knop protruding from the base. The clasp is 55.77mm long, 13.1mm wide, 0.6mm thick and weighs 3.3g.
