Title
A Post Medieval buckle
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy double-looped buckle dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1620-1750). The buckle is sub-oval in shape with the two outside edges slightly widened and with recesses for the pin to rest. The central bar is offset and extends beyond the frame at either end to form two knops. The frame is rounded on the face and flat on the reverse. The frame is also bent forming a slight V-shape. The pin is missing. The buckle is undecorsted and has a dark green patina.

See Margeson no. 169 (1993: 28, 30) for a comparable example.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 17.55mm in length, 22.92mm in width, 3.94mm in thickness and 2.46g in weight.
