Title
A Post Medieval Book Fitting
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy artefact which may possibly be a book fitting or part of a strap end, dating to the late Medieval or Post Medieval period (c. AD 1400 - 1700). There are traces of gilding apparent on the front and reverse of the fittng, though no other decoration is apparent. This object is very similar to WILT-953A74 on the PAS database, though the example recorded here is roughly half the size.
