Title
A Post Medieval Belt Mount (front)
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper alloy belt mount dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500 - 1700). The mount is in the shape of an acorn, which is broadly oval in shape and has a knop at the top and base. The reverse is slightly concave and has the remains of two integral studs, one of which is missing its tip and the other is absent leaving only the setting. The decoration on the front of the mount consists of the cup and acorn though any other details have been worn away. The surface of the mount shows signs of abrasion with a dark greenish brown patina.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 39mm in length, 22mm in width and 7.62g in weight.
