SELENIUM CELL SIGN FLASHER Shafts of light thrown upon one ormore selenium cells, each cell operatingan electric switch and each switch con-trolling the current to certain letters orwords of a flashing electric sign, is the know, is a conductor of electricity underthe influence of light, while in the darkit is practically a non-conductor. Ofcourse, the current which passes throughthe cell on its receiving a projected rayof light, being small, would control thesign switch through an electro-magnet.But added to this novel arrangement isthe plan for projecting the light rays. Itconsists of an ordinary projecting machineand moving picture film so made thatlight may pass through it to certain cellswhile the dark portions of the film cutoff the light to other cells, thus makingthe moving film the controlling factor.
