Description
English: The western half of A New Map of Denmark and Sweden According to ye Newest and most Exact Observations by H: Moll Geographer. To His Excellency John Lord Bishop of Bristol, Ld. Privy Seal and Her Majesty's first Plenipotentiary at the Treaty of Utrecht This Map is Humbly Dedicated by your Excellency's most humble Servant, H: Moll Geographer. Note that Greenland has no Inhabitans, but is every Year visited by many Ships from Holland, Hamburg &c. who fish in these Seas and on the Coast for Whale. The Northern Part of Norway, Lapland, and Greenland. The Longitudes of ye North Cape & of Archangel being not determin'd by any Caelestial Observations, the Sea Charts & Land Maps differ much. This Draught is taken from J. Peterson, who for many years used these Seas as a Pilot. NB. The double Line from Upsal to Torne shews ye Rout King Charles ye XI. and his Mathematicians took Anno 1694 in making their Observations, which are carefully inserted here with many other Remarks left to ye Curious to observe.
