This place used to be a dumping place for garbage, but the last decades all garbage in the Faroe Islands has been collected and burned. Norðbergseiði has developed into a tourist attraction. In 2009 men from Hvalba started to offer “síging” (a kind of rappelling) for tourists. People also come here to enjoy the view. A road goes all the way to the edge of Norðbergseiði.
Hvalbingar fóru í 2009 í holt við at bjóða ferðafólki síging á Norðbergseiði, tað er umleið 40 metrar niður á helluna.
