Title
A Medieval strap fitting
Description
English: A complete copper alloy strap fitting of probable Medieval date (c. AD 1300-1500). The object is composed of a single rectangular strip of copper alloy that folds over on itself with the two ends meeting. This creates a loop at one end and there is a single rivet to hold the folded metal in place at the opposite end. Suspended from the loop is a plain circular copper alloy ring with a diameter of 9.3mm. Similar examples can be seen in Griffiths et al (2007: 126) plate 21 nos 1239-1241.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 15.67mm in length, 9.3mm in width, 3.38mm in thickness and 0.8g in weight.
