A Medieval silver coin; an Edwardian penny in two pieces
Description
English: A medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), London mint, possibly class 3, dating from 1280-81. A section of the rim has broken away between 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock on the obverse, but most of this is still present. It is 19.7mm in diameter and 0.6mm thick. It weighs 1.2gm. Reference: North, volume 2, numbers 1016-22.
