Title
A Medieval harness pendant
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy harness pendant dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1200-1400). The pendant is in the shape of a ten-pointed star with five of the points radiating outwards on either side of an integrally cast suspension loop at the upper end of the pendant. At the lower end the pendant extends into a bifurcated hinge or suspension loop. There is a rivet in situ just above the hinge. The pendant is decorated with insiced lines following the shape of the star and in the centre of this is a blue enamel setting. The reverse is undecorated though there are traces of gilding.

Similar objects in form to the pendant described here are SUSS-2ACEB3 and NMS-2AF861.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 34.08mm in length, 17.26mm in width, 9.05mm in thickness and 5.66g in weight.
