A Medieval copper alloy thimble (15th century).
Description
English: A Medieval copper alloy thimble (15th century). The thimble has a wide margin between the base and the pits. The circular pits are hand-drilled in a spiral and they do not cover the peak. The pits are even and none are perforated completely. There is no maker’s mark visible. There are some cracks in the base. The copper alloy has no patina. Dimensions: Diameter at base: 17.50mm; Diameter at peak: 12.70mm; thickness: 0.88mm; weight: 2.31g.
