Title
A Medieval Token
Description
English: A complete lead uniface token dating to the Medieval to Post Medieval period (c. AD 1300-1700). The design on the obverse depicts a raised cross quartering the face of the object. The reverse is undecorated. The token can be classified as Powell Type 12. The token has a dark grey patina.

Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as use as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 24.51mm in length, 23.16mm in width, 4.66mm in thickness and 8.49g in weight.
