A Medieval Thimble (top view)
Description
English: A complete copper alloy open thimble or sewing ring dated to the late Medieval to early Post Medieval period (c. AD 1450-1550). The outside of the thimble has four horizontal lines of circular indentations or drilled pits, which are set at a slight slant vertically. The inside of the thimble is undecorated. It has a greenish brown patina.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 17mm in length, 10mm in width and 4.96g in weight.
