A Medieval Spindle Whorl (front)
Description
English: A complete lead spindle whorl dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1000-1500). The spindle whorl is sub-circular in plan with a sub-circular central piercing. The surface bears some deep notches and lines owing to abrasion. The whorl is light grey in colour with a light brown soil staining covering its surface.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 25mm in diameter, 12mm in thickness and 31.57g in weight.
