Description |
English: An incomplete, medieval, lead-alloy seal matrix, c.AD 1200 - 1300. The seal is a pointed oval or vessica shape. In the centre of the front is a herring bone design. Around the outside of this pattern are indentations suggesting the seal was deliberately damaged by punch marks. The reverse is severely corroded.
Length 36.6mm, width 24.5mm, thickness 4.1mm, weight 20.1g. |
