Description
The third edition of a work, updated from the first to include an updated description of contemporary dyeing machinery, advances in science, and updated nomenclature and chemical formula. According to the author, the work is intended to aid the skilled workman, "not to teach practical dyeing, but to explain the scientific principles of the art." Includes numerous recipes for dyeing cotton, silk, and wool fabrics. Digitization includes the work's front matter and pages 357-409 which contain pasted samples of dyed wool, silk, and cotton textiles.
