Title
A Lower Palaeolithic flint biface
Description
English: A Lower Palaeolithic flint biface dating 400,000 - 150,000BC. This biface is triangular in plan with a rounded butt and rounded tip. Flake removal scars cover both the dorsal and ventral surfaces. The irregular shape of the raw flint is indicated by a depression filled with white cortex roughly half way up the ventral surface. There is an irregular notch removed on the left side of the dorsal face near the butt. There is evidence of retouch on both edges from the dorsal surface. The flint has a brown/dark grey patina with a dark grey-white cortex on the proximal end.

Dimensions: length: 112.11 mm; width: 67.58 mm; thickness: 43.44mm; weight: 316g.
