Description

Our primary interest is to determine if any of the outcrops here might contain the mineral olivine. Olivine is a greenish-colored silicate mineral common in many mafic igneous rocks. The mineral has also been located in Nili Fossae (much further north than this location) as well as in Ganges Chasma, which is part of Valles Marineris.
