Summary

[edit]
Description

A migratory parasitic cuckoo that appears during the rainy season and early winters. The bird is quite easily heard with its distinctive call. It is not hard to spot either since it prefers open perches. Further it is a resident bird of the Indian subcontinent, but makes local movements. It also lays its eggs in other birds nests like those of Bulbuls and Tailorbirds.

The area we visited y'day had several of these birds and one of them landed on this little perch where it was calling loudly for a partner I suppose.

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
