Eighty-two Germans surrendered to an American infantry company of the 3rd Division, when U.S. Army Engineers blasted the German's fort near Mutzig, France, with 6,000 pounds of TNT loaded on a German half track. Working under cover of a smoke screen, the engineers loaded the captured vehicle with explosives and rolled it into the fort. (B). 10th Eng., 3rd Div., E Co., 30th Inf. Regt., 3rd Div.
