Description
English: A Filipino boy, center, hides his face as U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Johnathan Akers, not shown, performs a medical procedure on the child’s hand Oct. 9, 2011, in Ternate, Philippines. The boy suffered a minor injury while playing near a new school being built by U.S. Service members and members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as part of Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) FY 2012. PHIBLEX is an annual bilateral training exercise and security assistance program between the U.S. military and the AFP.
