English: A Coronation Seat By the Thames at Laleham.
There are two of these charming old benches where Ferry Lane, from Chertsey meets the river. A plaque https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1343857 dates them to 1902 - therefore commemorating the crowning of Edward VII. It is appropriate as it is easy to picture Edwardian Ladies and Gents in corsets and blazers partying by the river around here. |
