Description
English: On 7 February 1967, A Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), participating in Operation “Thayer II”, conducted a search and destroy mission against the Viet Cong in the An Loa Valley, RVN, about 400 miles NE of Saigon. Members of the company return to their command post with Viet Cong prisoners found hiding in mountain side caves. One of the “A” company’s soldiers managed to catch tow wild ducks as the company was returning. NARA 111-CCV-401-CC38404
